Cracked or broken tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling. Save any broken pieces and bring them to your appointment.
Severe toothache: Rinse with warm salt water and use dental floss to remove any food that may be lodged between teeth. Over-the-counter ibuprofen can help manage pain and inflammation until you reach our office.
Abscess or swelling: Do not attempt to drain an abscess yourself. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your face and contact our office immediately. Untreated abscesses can spread infection to the jaw, head, and neck.
